Build Part 5

Build Part 4

During the build not everything went like planned and I had the one or other setback. As we started to replace the suspension and shocks we figured out, that the rear axle and the spring carrier was rotten. So we had to change the complete rear axle to be able to fit the new suspension and shocks.

The rebuild was not easy and took a long time. As the 16v is quite rare - only 6312 cars were built with the 16v 2.0 engine - sourcing of spare parts and modification parts were not that easy. But after many phone calls across Europe I was able to source the main parts for suspension etc..

Beginning of the year 2018 the idea started to grow to fulfil one of my biggest dreams. To build my own race car. And it had to be obviously an Alfa Romeo. As I am more interested in historical Motorsport the choice based on my budget was limited. In my youth I loved the red Alfa Romeo (155 V6 Ti) at the German DTM in the 90ies. As I own already a 155 from 1996 with a 2.0 Twin Spark 16v engine and I came across the same model. The decision was done quickly. So I purchased a red 155 from 1995 with the same 2.0 Twin Spark 16v engine. And the rebuild startet in June 2018.
